Football: Chelsea 1 - 0 Tottenham Hotspur
Chelsea edge past Tottenham to climb into top four
Enzo Fernández’s second-half header secured a vital win for Chelsea as they overcame Tottenham to move into the Premier League’s top four, strengthening their push for Champions League qualification.

Defeat heaps further pressure on Ange Postecoglou, whose Spurs side remain 14th and in danger of finishing outside the top 10 for the first time since 2008.
The Blues, buoyed by the return of key duo Cole Palmer and Nicolas Jackson, dictated the tempo at Stamford Bridge but squandered a string of first-half chances. However, they maintained their attacking intent after the break and found the breakthrough on 50 minutes, with Fernández nodding in Palmer’s pinpoint cross.
Moisés Caicedo thought he had doubled Chelsea’s advantage moments later, firing a crisp volley past Guglielmo Vicario, but the goal was chalked off following a lengthy VAR review for offside in the build-up.

Tottenham then had an equaliser ruled out in controversial fashion. Substitute Pape Matar Sarr rifled home from 20 yards, but after a VAR review, referee Craig Pawson overturned the goal due to a high challenge on Caicedo in the lead-up.
The result sees Chelsea leapfrog defending champions Manchester City into fourth, with Newcastle dropping to sixth.
Chelsea fans respond to a successful Thursday night in South London

Steve said: "A hard-fought and much-needed win. Tottenham were flat until the last 20 minutes. Robert Sánchez played well and is doing right in kicking the ball long more often. Chelsea are still slowing the ball down too often, but we are back in the top four and I'm happy with that."
Nick added: "There's no surprise the return of Cole Palmer and, in particular, Nicolas Jackson coincided with a much improved all-round performance. We played with greater verve, spirit and aggression than in recent weeks and fully deserved the win, which was more comprehensive than the scoreline suggests."
Spurs fans aren't happy
Tottenham’s season continues to unravel, with another lacklustre display adding to the growing frustration among supporters. A late surge failed to mask the wider problems, leaving many questioning Postecoglou’s future.
Joshua told us: "Yet another miserable performance. We only showed signs of threat near the end of the game, by which time it was too late. Ange is hanging by his last thread – the Europa League. If he doesn't win that 'trophy in his second year', then I don't see him having a future at Spurs. It was great at the start, but now Ange's reign has to come to an end if we want to improve as a football team."
James also gave his thoughts: "Our style of play under Ange has been so laborious, sloppy and littered with mistakes. We put up a reasonable effort, but you would normally look to a manager to instil more discipline in how we play. Antonio Conte used to drill the side and we got results. That's what is missing. I'm looking forward to the summer and hopefully a new manager. Until then, we suffer."
