Danso initially arrived in north London on loan in January, with the agreement including an obligation to buy at the end of the season. Since joining, he has made 15 appearances and played a part in Spurs' UEFA Europa League triumph earlier this month.
Following that success, the club have now exercised the option to make the move permanent.
A closer look at Danso's career so far
The 25-year-old previously made 128 appearances for Lens, contributing four goals and six assists. He played a central role in the team that narrowly missed out on the Ligue 1 title to Paris Saint-Germain by a single point, and featured in the Champions League the following campaign.

He also had a spell in English football with Southampton earlier in his career but only played six matches during a mostly forgettable loan spell.
What are the Tottenham fans saying?
Daz, a Tottenham fan, told us: "The singing of Danso makes sense given that we have not forked out massively. At the very least, we'll have an extra nine matches next season (8 in the Champions League, 1 in the Super Cup) and we are going to need a bigger squad to cope with those extra matches."
Jamie, another Spurs fan, added: "As we enter a new era, the team is going to need hungry players for the fight. It feels like the permanent signing is just the beginning. Onwards and upwards for the club now."
Thomas, a Tottenham fan season ticket holder, had similar thoughts to Daz: "We need determined players for the next challenge in our history. It feels like the permanent signing is just the beginning of what could be a very interesting summer for the club."
