The 18-year-old’s current deal runs until 2026, but the Gunners have moved to secure his long-term future after months of discussions. Though the agreement is yet to be formally signed, the framework is now in place.

His rapid progress earned him a first senior England call-up in March. He marked the occasion by scoring in a 2-0 victory over Albania at Wembley, becoming the youngest player to score on their full debut for the national side.
The teenager’s performances have not gone unnoticed, with a nomination for the PFA Young Player of the Year award announced earlier this week. He is joined on the shortlist by Morgan Rogers, Liam Delap, Dean Huijsen, Milos Kerkez and fellow Arsenal prospect Ethan Nwaneri.
Some interesting stats
There are some fascinating numbers that display his clear natural talent.
One example of this was that he was only dribbled past once in the Premier League. The best record of any player to have made over 15 starts. He's also won the most duels and was ranked for fouls won during the 2024/2025 Premier League season.
Skelly previously played as a midfielder and this was evidence of a passing accuracy of 93.6%. This was the fifth-highest figure out of every Premier League player who had played over 1,000 minutes.
