Jamie: Facing Bayern was always going to be a challenge given their experienced squad. This match provides a valuable learning curve for Chelsea’s young side. I felt the score did not fully reflect their performance.

Foster: It was a decent display, but three defensive mistakes proved costly. The team will need to learn quickly and eliminate such errors. Robert Sanchez continues to show he is a reliable shot-stopper, but even he could not prevent the three goals.

Lauren W: It was great to see Chelsea back in the Champions League. Bayern ultimately stretched the team too far, but Chelsea will take lessons from it and come back stronger. The duel between Michael Olise and Marc Cucurella was a highlight, while Cole Palmer once again demonstrated his quality.

Stew: It is frustrating to see two of the goals gifted to Bayern through poor play out from the back. Chelsea need to vary their approach, as they have consistently struggled against high-pressing teams. Pedro Neto covers plenty of ground, but his end product remains lacking.

Si: This result was largely predictable. The team is not yet ready for this level of competition, and too many mistakes proved costly. It highlights just how much they still need to learn and improve as a cohesive unit.

Terrence: Chelsea’s main issue is Enzo Maresca’s reluctance to adapt his tactics. He focuses heavily on playing out from the back and possession football, even when it repeatedly exposes the team to pressure and the ball rarely progresses forward. I hope I am wrong, but I struggle to see Chelsea winning the Premier League or Champions League under his management.

Jon: Chelsea appeared to control the game in the first 15 to 20 minutes of each half, particularly at the start. However, a few mistakes and lapses in concentration were all Bayern needed to take full advantage and dominate the match.
