After falling short of promotion to the Championship in the playoff final last time around, Richie Wellens's side currently sit 18th, having earned just 11 points from their first 11 outings, with only two sides managing fewer than the five points they have picked up on home turf.
Their last league victory came away to newly-promoted Port Vale in early September. Since then, a hard-fought home draw against Bolton Wanderers has been followed by three consecutive defeats, during which they have conceded nine goals.
They did however win in midweek, in the EFL Trophy against Crawley Town. Aaron Connolly’s late free kick sealed victory for them.
Last time in League One
Cardiff City edged past Orient in a breathless seven-goal contest. A bad way to lose a game but there were plenty of positives for them, especially from an attacking perspective.

Key stats ahead of the match
Leyton Orient have managed only two wins in their last 14 Football League meetings with Doncaster Rovers (D4 L8), although one of those victories came in their most recent encounter in January 2023, when they secured a 1-0 win over the Yorkshire side.
Doncaster’s record away to Orient has improved significantly over the years. After failing to win any of their first 10 league visits to Brisbane Road between 1956 and 1997 (D1 L9), they have since been beaten just once in their last seven trips (W4 D2).
Aaron Connolly remains a central figure for Orient this season. No player in League One has registered more shots (41) or efforts on target (15). The 25-year-old has found the net in each of his last two league matches but has yet to score in three consecutive games in his career.
