Marco Silva's side lost only one of their first seven games across all competitions, a controversial 2-0 loss to Chelsea, while securing four wins and two draws in that time.
Two of those victories came in the EFL Cup, including a 2-0 win over Bristol City in the second round, followed by a 1-0 win against Cambridge United in the third round.
However, their form has taken a turn for the worse in recent outings, as the Cottagers have now lost all of their last four matches, leaving them in desperate need of a streak-snapping triumph on Tuesday.

Team news
Fulham remain without Emile Smith Rowe after the midfielder sustained a muscle injury at St James Park. He adds to a lengthy list of absentees that already includes Antonee Robinson, Joachim Andersen, Harry Wilson, Samuel Chukwueze and Rodrigo Muniz.
Wycombe have fitness concerns of their own, with Josh Scowen, George Abbott and Anders Hagelskjær all expected to be unavailable. On loan forward Cauley Woodrow will be able to feature, despite having previously played in the competition for parent club Luton Town.
A closer look at the opposition
Wycombe Wanderers opened the 2025-26 campaign in testing fashion, unable to secure a victory in their first six league matches. Four defeats and two draws set a frustrating early tone, compounded by a loss to Colchester United in their opening EFL Trophy fixture.
Things have improved though and they come into the tie buoyed by their most convincing display of the campaign against Huddersfield. The Chairboys made full use of their numerical advantage at the weekend, punishing the Terriers after they were reduced to ten men. Cauley Woodrow and Fred Onyedinma both struck before Dan Harvie’s cross was turned into his own net by Daniel Vost to seal their most impressive league result of the season.
It is only the second time in the club’s history that they have reached this stage of the competition; the previous occasion led all the way to a memorable semi-final in 2006-07.
