Championship 2024 | Jobe Bellingham playing for Sunderland

Any transfer would be complicated by the English youngster’s lengthy contract at Borussia Dortmund and increasing Premier League interest.

German media reports suggest that Bellingham is attracting attention from several Premier League clubs, with Palace among those monitoring the younger brother of Jude Bellingham. The 20-year-old remains under close observation following his early months in Germany, even as Dortmund signal their desire to keep him, with the player committed to a substantial long-term deal.

Bellingham joined Dortmund from Sunderland in the summer, and while his ability is unquestioned, his adaptation to the Bundesliga is still ongoing. Palace, however, see the England U21 international as a valuable addition to their young squad.

Securing a deal would be challenging. Bellingham only signed his contract in 2025, which runs until 2030, reportedly earning around £98,000 a week, terms that give Dortmund a strong negotiating position and make a January move unlikely.

Who else is interested?

Manchester United have also been linked with the midfielder, but reports suggest that Dortmund are not currently interested in a winter sale.

His career so far

Bellingham began his career in Birmingham City’s academy and made his first-team debut for the club at the age of 16. After 24 league appearances, he moved to EFL Championship side Sunderland in 2023. Following Sunderland’s promotion to the Premier League in 2025, Bellingham completed a permanent transfer to Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund for a fee reported to be the highest ever received by a newly promoted Premier League side.
