Andy Lee: A welcome win in a difficult match, but the player who rarely gets mentioned is Guglielmo Vicario. We almost conceded early when Joe Rodon struck the post with Vicario struggling to react. Leeds’ goal followed a poor parry that fell straight to an attacker, not the first time this season. While he did make two crucial saves late on, he never seems fully secure, particularly dealing with aerial balls. The club may need to consider an upgrade or give Antonin Kinsky a chance.
Peter: Exactly what we needed. After draws with struggling Wolves and Bodo/Glimt, Thomas Frank must have been eager for a win. Noah Okafor’s goal is not really worth criticism. I was pleased to see Mathys Tel on the scoresheet. He is talented enough to start elsewhere, but with so many attackers, his opportunities are limited. His and Mohammed Kudus’ goals lifted everyone’s spirits, giving both a chance to find their rhythm. Seven games in, and third place is impressive.
Jeremy: A strong display against a disciplined Leeds side that had been unbeaten at home for some time. We were effective in transition and should have had another goal by half time. A few defensive lapses were costly, but overall we were solid at the back. It was encouraging to see both Tel and Kudus score. Kudus could improve by releasing the ball more quickly, but he deservedly earned man of the match.
Erica: Kudus was superb. A fantastic performance from him. He was really dynamic going forward and took his goal well. More displays like this one and I can see him becoming a fan favourite.
