Football Fan View | A Chelsea fan discusses their start to the season
It has been another interesting start to the season for Chelsea.
Another load of new signings have come to Stamford Bridge, and as always, we’ve seen mixed results alongside some mixed results at times.
Chelsea season ticket holder Lauren W answers some key questions from London Super News as the Premier League returns following the final international break of 2025.

Which player is flying this season?
Moises Caicedo’s influence has grown steadily since his arrival at Chelsea, but his performances this season have taken a significant step forward. His consistency is starting to receive the wider recognition it warrants.
Have any players been struggling?
Tosin Adarabioyo has found it difficult to settle, struggling in the games he has featured in. He now appears to sit behind Levi Colwill, Wesley Fofana, Trevoh Chalobah, Benoit Badiashile and Josh Acheampong in the centre-back pecking order.
What do you think about the tactics?
Tactically, the side looks increasingly well organised and defensively assured, but there is still a lack of natural fluency in attack. Greater cohesion in the final third would lift the team to another level.
What the manager needs to provide more of is Josh Acheampong. He has impressed whenever he has been given opportunities, yet Enzo Maresca remains hesitant to start him. His displays suggest he merits greater trust. Our best performance tactically was the win against Liverpool.
What are fans obsessed with?
Fans are almost starting to demand that Estevao Willian should start every Premier League match, largely because of the spark he provides from the bench. Yet at 18, he is already playing a substantial amount of football across competitions, and there is little reason to accelerate his development further.
What were your expectations at the start of the season?
After last season's relative success of the Conference League and Club World Cup, the expectation for the season was another contest for the top four and some more consistent performances.
Give the season so far a rating out of 10?
I’d have to give us a steady 7 out of 10, though that could shift markedly in the coming weeks with several major fixtures on the horizon.
One more paragraph to sum up how you’re feeling now?
There is optimism that the returns of Fofana, Liam Delap and, in time, Cole Palmer will help the team continue to progress We’ve looked great times, but there has been some poor performances. The defeat at Old Trafford wasn’t great, and there was genuine anger after the defeat at home to Sunderland.
