Estevao, 18, delivered a superb second goal shortly after Barcelona were reduced to 10 men, with skipper Ronald Araujo dismissed for a second booking just before half time.

By that stage the hosts were already ahead through an own goal from Jules Kounde, and substitute Liam Delap added a composed finish to end his 11 game drought with his first goal of the campaign.

The best comments from across the world wide Web.

Vincent: I had given up hope before the match thinking it was going to be a heavy defeat, but somehow the team rose to the moment. Credit to every one of them. They played outstanding football. A special word for Marc Cucurella who was simply outstanding.

James: A perfect night and a complete performance from the team. Cucurella was superb once again while Moises Caicedo was immense. I am delighted to have seen Estevao get the better of Lamine Yamal in a match. A remarkable night. Up Chelsea.

Obe: The team have found a level of momentum that could bring more silverware this season. They are exceptional.

Marcus: Este Wow. That is the only way to sum up this match. These are the big European nights we have been missing at the Bridge in recent years, though I doubt we will get an easier win against Barcelona. We still need to sort out our away form in Europe, but this result should lift the team and give them the belief to really push on in this competition. Never underestimate Chelsea in Europe, especially when they are the underdogs.

Jules: Wow, just wow. As a Chelsea fan of 50 years, that is one of the finest team performances I have seen. From front to back they were outstanding. A bold and inspired selection by Enzo Maresca to exploit Barcelona's high line. Sensational.

Fred: A flawless performance and easily our best display of the season so far. Everyone delivered and I loved the energy in the press and the way they hunted down the Barcelona players. Three nil did not flatter us and I cannot wait to see Palmer and Estevao starting together soon.
