The draw means both sides are level on seven points in the 36-team league phase of the Champions League. Maresca's still have a lot to do if they are to reach the later stages of the competition.

The best Chelsea fan reaction

Lewis W: Our tendency to concede cheap goals was exposed by Qarabag. Defensive errors and lapses in concentration have left the Blues increasingly vulnerable, especially when facing one-on-one situations or sustained pressure.

James: Maresca must settle on his strongest team and stick with it. Making changes is fine when comfortably ahead, but the lack of cohesion tonight showed individual talent rather than a team performance. It is little wonder the side appears so disjointed from game to game.

Frank: Trevoh Chalobah and Wesley Fofana were great against Spurs, but it's difficult to build any momentum when the pairing changes so drastically the following game.

Michael: Maresca’s time may be up. It was naïve to field a second-string side and he failed to make effective adjustments when things went wrong. The players are there, but he is not getting the best from them. Tactically, it was weak.

Nicholas: This result is on Maresca. The selection choices left the team exposed and the side could easily have lost. With a run of tough Champions League fixtures ahead, the prospects look limited to the playoffs at best.

Edward: Absolutely dreadful. What more is there to say. Maresca must go.

Scottie: Why field a weakened side in the Champions League, placing a full back in the centre while leaving two centre-backs on the bench? A weaker team could have been used against Wolves instead. Any credit earned from the Spurs performance has evaporated.
