It’s going to be an interesting weekend if you have eclectic taste in music. For us, the highlights of this musical weekend are The Pigeon Detectives and Lorde.
Friday 14 November
The Offspring at The O2
The Offspring rose to prominence in the 1990s, their anthemic, metal-infused punk sound helping to revive interest in the genre for a new generation. This should be ace and a good opportunity to see the band before they support Queens of the Stone Age in the summer.
The Pigeon Detectives at Electric Brixton
The always energetic band has great tracks such as ‘I’m Not Going to Take This’, ‘I Found Out’, and ‘I’m Not Sorry’, as well as a number from their latest album, “We Met At Sea”. Despite this record taking a bit of a hammering from the critics (many of whom claim it doesn’t live up to their previous records), it still has a number of good tracks and is well worth a listen. The band have found themselves with a cult following and with their ability to perform live, it’s not difficult too see why! This should be a fantastic show.

- Mura Masa at Roundhouse
- Overmono at Alexandra Palace
Saturday 15 November
Sports Team at Electric Brixton
A great band with an energetic live sound. Frontman Alex is always captivating to watch, bringing a distinctive presence to the stage. The group plays with precision and flair, clearly relishing every moment of their performance.
Clark at Drumsheds
An electronic visionary often cited as an inspiration for emerging artists. When performing, ideally from an elevated platform, he commands his sounds with effortless mastery, as if a surge of musical energy courses through his arms and into his nimble fingers.

- Tyler Childers at The O2
Sunday 16 November
Babyshambles at O2 Academy Brixton
For this gig, avoid wearing your best clothes or spending too long on your hair, because both will end up ruined. From the opening chords of the first ragged rock anthem, you will be jostled and soaked, yet it all feels gloriously spontaneous. It is the kind of chaos that thrives among hundreds of fans celebrating the imperfect brilliance of a modern British rock band. It’s great to see Babyshambles touring again.
Lorde at The O2
We have saved the best until last. Lorde, an electro-pop singer and songwriter from Devonport, New Zealand, burst onto the scene with her debut single “Royals”, which became an instant global hit. The track topped the US Billboard Hot 100, making her the youngest solo artist to achieve a number-one single in America. This promises to be something special.
