They remain the leading contenders for the Conference League despite finishing only 10th in the league phase. Against Bosnian champions Zrinjski, an organised and competitive but ultimately limited outfit, the only real surprise was that Palace did not win by a wider margin
Best reaction
Andrew: It was a stronger display, with greater fight and intensity. There is still concern about how cheaply possession is surrendered and how exposed that can leave us. There were plenty of positives, but the passing in attacking areas needs to be sharper and played in front of runners rather than behind them, which too often halts momentum.
Bobbie: I noticed Johnson come on as a substitute, but he seemed to vanish soon after. At times it felt as though he was hiding behind the goalpost.
Simon: My main concern going into the match was always the opening stages, as we often struggle against teams sitting deep.
