Crystal Palace fans waving flags.

Stephen: For half an hour Palace appeared in complete control, highlighted by an excellent goal from Sarr. The penalty shifted the momentum and for the following hour they looked unsettled and under sustained pressure. They did well to hold on and reach the semi-final, although it could, and perhaps should, have been far more straightforward. Still, they are there in a European semi-final, which is a significant moment for the club.

Ade: It was not pretty and the injuries to key players are a concern, but it felt like a professional job in the second half. Poland next, with Leipzig the ideal scenario.

Gaz: Palace defended well and, over the two legs, deserved their place in the semi-final. Sarr and Mitchell stood out and there is plenty for the team, and supporters, to take pride in. Attention now turns to West Ham, with hope that everyone is fit. The first European semi-final awaits.

Niall: It should lift the players’ confidence to be progressing in this competition and perhaps offer a chance to salvage something from a difficult season, marked by the loss of key players and uncertainty around the manager’s departure.

Alexandra: The performance matters little. Palace are in the semi-finals of a European competition and that is what counts. The sense of occasion is undeniable.

Tony: Crystal Palace in a European semi-final. Madness. Absolute madness.

Paul: Relief in the end. A well-worked team goal on the break raised hopes of another win, but Fiorentina provided a sterner test. Palace wavered at times but ultimately saw it through. The focus now is on the extent of those injuries.

Andrew: A positive start, though early injuries and a soft penalty put them on the back foot. Pino struggled to influence the game and might have been withdrawn earlier. Encouraging signs from Canvot, who is growing in confidence. Attention now shifts to the semi-final, with fitness key ahead of Monday.
