The 29-year-old England forward was part of the side relegated from the Premier League on the final day of last season, prompting speculation over his future.
Bowen, who joined the Hammers from Hull City in 2020, has made 280 appearances and scored 85 goals. He has captained the club since 2024 following Kurt Zouma's departure.
Despite winning 22 England caps, Bowen was left out of Thomas Tuchel's World Cup squad this summer.
His decision is a significant lift for West Ham
The Hammers are starting preparations for their first Championship campaign since 2011-12.
Bowen remained a key figure in attack last season, starting every Premier League match and scoring nine goals.
He will always be remembered for scoring the dramatic late winner against Fiorentina in the 2023 Uefa Conference League final in Prague, securing West Ham's first major trophy in 43 years.
The forward had been linked with a return to the Premier League during the summer transfer window, but will instead stay at the London Stadium for the 2026-27 campaign. Bowen has not signed a contract extension, with his current deal still running until 2030.
