A number of competitive debuts could be in store at Gtech Community Stadium. Brentford supporters will be keen to see Jaidon Anthony, Callum Wilson and highly rated Mali international Mamadou Sangaré in red and white.
Spurs need to start their new era
Tottenham have spent heavily on reshaping a squad that has finished 17th in each of the past two Premier League seasons.
De Zerbi will look to integrate his new signings while putting into practice the tactical adjustments refined during pre-season, with an intriguing contest in prospect.
The Tottenham manager was renowned for the possession-based football he introduced at Brighton, and with players such as Tonali, Fernandes and James Maddison in midfield, Spurs are likely to adopt a more controlled approach than the one seen as they battled to avoid Premier League relegation towards the end of last season.
