Everton 0 - 2 Chelsea
A fairly comfortable win for Chelsea was marred by an injury to their keeper
Emiliano Martinez was carried off on a stretcher with a serious-looking head injury as Xabi Alonso's side secured victory at Everton.
The Argentina World Cup winner and Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite collided heads while challenging for the ball in the 75th minute.
Branthwaite was able to continue after receiving treatment, but play was stopped for 10 minutes as Martinez received medical attention. The 34-year-old was able to move his arms as he was carried off and was replaced by Mike Penders.
The match was settled by two goals from wing-back Pedro Neto
He opened the scoring after meeting Jorrel Hato's deflected cutback, before adding a second late on with a composed finish into the bottom corner after Jordan Henderson's free-kick was blocked by the wall.
The victory gave Chelsea their first Premier League clean sheet in nine months and condemned Everton to their first league defeat of the season.
Chelsea moved up to fourth place, with Everton sitting sixth, ahead of the rest of the weekend's fixtures.
