QPR complete late comeback against Preston
Lucas Andersen scored a sensational 93rd-minute winner to seal a dramatic 2-1 comeback victory for Queen’s Park Rangers over Preston North End at Deepdale.

Preston looked to have edged a tight encounter when centre-back Liam Lindsay nodded home on the stroke of half-time, but late goals from substitutes Michael Frey and Andersen ensured QPR returned to west London with all three points.
The result lifts the R’s further clear of the relegation zone in the Championship table, pulling away from a Preston side who began the day just one point behind them in 16th.
In a first half short on rhythm and interrupted by many fouls, it was Preston who made the breakthrough deep into added time. Veteran full-back Robbie Brady delivered a teasing cross and Lindsay rose above his marker to crash a header past Paul Nardi for his first goal of the campaign.

QPR had earlier spurned a golden opportunity when Tottenham loanee Yang Min-Hyeok failed to convert a one-on-one in the 12th minute. The game was also briefly halted after winger Koki Saito was stretchered off with a suspected shoulder injury, casting a shadow over an already scrappy opening 45 minutes.
The away side emerged with renewed purpose after the break and began to threaten more consistently. Rayan Kolli came close twice, first glancing wide from close range before seeing a shot blocked from the edge of the area.
With time running out, the QPR boss turned to his bench and it paid immediate dividends. Jonathan Varane’s corner was only partially cleared and Frey latched on to the loose ball, rifling home from 15 yards to level the match with ten minutes remaining.
But it was Andersen who delivered the decisive blow. With the clock ticking into the third minute of injury time, the Danish midfielder took aim from distance and sent a stunning strike into the top corner, sparking wild celebrations among the travelling fans.
While neither side is yet mathematically safe from relegation, both appear to have done enough to avoid the drop to League One. For QPR, this spirited win could be the moment that defines their survival push.
