Football Preview | Slavia Prague v Arsenal
Arsenal head to Prague
They are looking to take another huge step towards the Champions League last 16
In this season's league phase of Europe's premier competition, Arsenal have taken nine points from nine without conceding a goal, placing them among five teams with a perfect record so far.
With 16 points having been the benchmark to secure a top-eight finish last season, a victory in Prague would leave Mikel Arteta’s side needing only four points from their final four matches to reach that target.
In their last Champions League match, they scored four times in a dazzling 14-minute spell to sweep aside Atletico Madrid. After that match, one Arsenal fan told London Super London News: "Patient, composed, ruthless and defensively assured. Arsenal at their finest? The depth of the squad is beginning to tell, and confidence is growing with each game."
Team News | Youngsters set to be involved.
Arsenal youngsters Andre Harriman-Annous and Max Dowman are expected to be involved with the first-team squad for Tuesday’s Champions League meeting with Slavia Prague.
Neither player has been included in the Uefa Youth League fixture against Slavia Prague’s under-19s earlier in the day, suggesting they will be part of Mikel Arteta’s senior plans for the evening match.
Both Harriman-Annous and Dowman made their first senior starts in the EFL Cup win over Brighton last week, with Dowman becoming the youngest player ever to start a competitive game for Arsenal.
With striker Viktor Gyokeres sidelined through injury, Harriman-Annous could provide Arteta with another option in attack. Arsenal’s forward line remains depleted, with Kai Havertz, Noni Madueke, Gabriel Martinelli, Gabriel Jesus and Martin Odegaard all ruled out.
Mikel Arteta's pre-match press conference
Among other things, the Arsenal boss told the media: "The team has been competing really well in all different competitions and tomorrow we know that we have a really tough match here, they are unbeaten here at home all season. It's a team that are very used to playing together; they have a very clear philosophy, they create a massive atmosphere as well, so we know it's going to be a really tough match."

A quick look at the opposition
While Arsenal are chasing a fourth consecutive European win, Slavia Prague are aiming for only their second-ever Champions League victory. Their first came in September 2007 against Steaua Bucharest, and they are currently without a win in their last ten matches in major European competitions, a run stretching back to September 2024.
In terms of their recent domestic form, Slavia Prague’s 2025/26 season had begun unevenly. Despite entering last weekend unbeaten in the league, four draws in their previous five matches had seen them slip from first to third in a closely contested title race with Sparta Prague and Jablonec.
Saturday’s 2-0 home victory over Banik Ostrava, secured by second-half goals from Tomas Vlcek and Chytil, combined with defeats for both title rivals, propelled Slavia back into top spot on goal difference ahead of their neighbours.
